Vina Errazuriz was founded by Don Maximiano Errazuriz in 1870. While most of Chilean vineyards were planted in areas surrounding the capital city, Santiago, Don Maximiano set his sights towards the north, searching for an exceptional terroir. After covering a hundred kilometres over two days on horseback, he discovered a viticultural paradise in the Aconcagua Valley where he founded Vina Errazuriz, declaring that from the best land, he will produce the best wine. There he planted the first French grape varieties in the Aconcagua Valley.
His descendants have taken his creativity and initiative to consolidate Vina Errazuriz and positioned their wines among the worldÂ’'s most noteworthy. Today, Errazuriz Wines have won a host of awards across their range and are considered one of the most admired wine brands in the world. |
