Glen Garioch

Glen Garioch Distillery, known in the local dialect as "Geery", is one of the oldest Scotch whisky distilleries. The village of Oldmeldrum in the "Valley of the Garioch" had a reputation for producing the finest barley in Scotland and so made an ideal location for John and Alexander Manson to set up their distillery in 1979.

Glen Garioch has had its share of troubles over the years, not least of which a "chronic water shortage" in 1968 which ceased production until a new water source could be found, but today, drawing from "The Silent Spring", Glen Garioch continues to make whisky, only ever in small batches to ensure their quality, for those who enjoy a delicious Highland malt.
