Herradura

Casa Herradura has produced tequila at their Hacienda in Jalisco, Mexico for over 125 years. Though officially founded in 1870 by Felix Lopez, the earliest known owner of the property was Feliciano Romo in the early 19th century. Herradura is Spanish for "horseshoe, and was given its name by Felix's son Aurelio who found a gleaming horseshoe in the agave fields and kept it for luck.

Casa Herradura ferments their agave juice using only yeasts found naturally on the plants and in the air, the same way as Felix Lopez and Feliciano Romo would have done all those years ago. This process leaves a unique signature on the tequila no other distillery could replicate.
